This course is designed to teach students how to safely and properly use hand and power tools for woodworking. Students will learn how to work responsibly in a shop setting while practicing good safety habits. We will focus on using measuring tools correctly, marking measurements, and learning the basics of woodworking tools. Students will get hands-on experience using both hand and power tools while working on different woodworking projects. The goal of this course is to learn by doing and give students the skills and knowledge they need to complete projects in a safe and responsible way. This will be a project-based class with a strong focus on hands-on learning in the wood shop.
